Miss Pate is one of the only remembered tenants of the boarding house in 608 S. Elm Street. She had red hair and a special connection with the Gray family. This portrait is reference to her, to previous female residents of the building, and to previous visiting artists. A dress from the collection which Casey wore through out her residency is incorporated into Miss Pate.
